NLIHC Housing Policy Forum 2022
Explore Ways of Achieving Renter Protections at NLIHC Virtual Housing Policy Forum 2022, March 22-23!
NLIHC's Virtual Housing Policy Forum 2022: Achieving Housing Justice – taking place from 12:30 to 5:30 pm ET on March 22 and from 1:00 to 5:30 pm ET on March 23 – will feature an in-depth session on the federal, state, and local renter protections needed to ensure long-term housing stability and to address the power imbalances between renters and landlords that put renters at risk of housing instability, harassment, and homelessness. The session will provide an overview of current tenant protections, the impact of inadequate protections on low-income tenants, and the advocacy needed to address these problems. A panel of experts will discuss federal policies protecting against discrimination, wrongful eviction, harassment, and other violations of tenants' rights; how to advance tenant protections at the local level; and how to achieve right-to-counsel laws locally and federally.
