Dear ANCOR Housing Taskforce Members,
We are excited to share a crucial development that aligns with our mission to improve housing options for people with disabilities. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has provided a notifice of funding opportunity (NOFO) regarding the availability of $106 million through the Section 811 capital advance program. This funding is intended to expand and enhance housing opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
The Section 811 capital advance program has historically been used to facilitate the creation of various housing options, including independent living projects, condominium units, and small group homes. This capital advance does not require repayment, as long as the housing remains accessible to very low-income individuals with disabilities for a minimum of 40 years.
For those interested in applying for this funding, the deadline is February 11, 2024. We encourage you to explore this opportunity. To find more information about the application, go to https://www.grants.gov/search-results-detail/350575.
